Bay City (Mich.) Central three-star wide receiver Devell Washington included Ohio State in his top five early Tuesday morning alongside Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue and West Virginia.
I’d like to thank all of the coaches that recruited me from some of the top universities in the country. It’s humbling that you believed in me as a student-athlete. That said, here are my top 5 schools (no order). Recruitment is still OPEN 🙏🏽#GodsPlan

The 6-4, 200-pound Washington is considered the 100th-best wide receiver and No. 542 prospect overall in the class of 2020. He’s visited Columbus on numerous occasions since he landed a scholarship following a stellar performance at Friday Night Lights last summer, including for last season’s wins over Oregon State, Tulane and Michigan, which has given him the chance to bond with receivers coach Brian Hartline and several current and former players.
Ohio State already holds a pair of commitments from Rockwall, Texas, four-star Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic four-star Gee Scott, but look to add two more this cycle. Catawissa (Pa.) Southern Columbia five-star Julian Fleming, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star Marcus Rosemy and Washington (D.C.) St. John’s College four-star Rakim Jarrett are among the staff’s top targets, so the Buckeyes will have to miss out on several higher-rated prospects for Washington to find himself in the conversation — despite significant interest in the program.
