Ferndale, Washington, four-star offensive guard Geirean Hatchett included Ohio State in his top five Wednesday afternoon alongside Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Stanford and Washington.
Thank you to all of the coaches that have recruited me. Very thankful for all the opportunities that have come my way. With that being said these are the 5 schools that I will be focusing on as my recruiting process continues! #cardclass20 #GoIrish #PurpleReign #GoBucks #20Deep pic.twitter.com/ZyM8MulFkk

The 6-5, 275-pound Hatchett is considered the 10th-best offensive guard and No. 188 prospect overall in the Class of 2010. He has been to Columbus twice since offensive line coach Greg Studrawa extended a scholarship offer in February 2018, which includes a multi-day visit for the 62-39 win over Michigan last fall.
The Buckeyes already hold commitment from four linemen in Cincinnati St. Xavier five-star tackle Paris Johnson Jr., New Jersey four-star center Luke Wypler, Cincinnati Elder three-star tackle Jakob James and Norwalk (Ohio) three-star tackle Trey Leroux, but the staff hopes to add at least two more this cycle.
Players like Hatchett, Michigan five-star guard Justin Rogers, Arizona four-star tackle Tosh Baker, Colorado four-star guard Reece Atteberry, Georgia four-star tackle (and former commitment) Jake Wray, Kentucky four-star tackle John Young, Massachusetts four-star tackle Zak Zinter, Pennsylvania four-star Michael Carmondy are Texas four-star Akinola Ogunbiyi all seemingly jockeying for those two spots.
Hatchett hopes to make a decision before the start of his senior year, with 100 percent of 247Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions favoring the home-state Huskies.
