2021 Ohio State Four-Star Cornerback Commit Jakailin Johnson Lands All-American Bowl Invitation
Ohio State four-star cornerback commit Jakailin Johnson on Friday afternoon announced he had received an invitation to the All-American Bowl.

If the 6-0, 168-pound Johnson accepts his invitation, he’ll join four other Buckeye commits in next year’s game, including Philadelphia St. Joseph’s Prep five-star quarterback Kyle McCord; Bellaire (Texas) Episcopal four-star offensive guard Donovan Jackson; Cornelius (N.C.) Willam Amos Hough four-star running back Evan Pryor; and Ironton, Ohio, four-star linebacker Reid Carrico.
Johnson, a St. Louis native and the cousin of Ohio State sophomore wide receiver Jameson Williams, is considered the fourth-best cornerback and No. 52 prospect overall in the class of 2021. He pledged his services to the Buckeyes on March 15 over finalists Clemson, Florida, Missouri, Oklahoma and USC and kicked off a three-day string of commitments that also included Nashville Ensworth four-star cornerback Andre Turrentine and Cincinnati La Salle three-star Devonta Smith.
With 18 commits, Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class currently sits atop the 247Sports composite team rankings by a wide margin over second-ranked Tennessee (295.41 points to 232.78).
The Buckeyes are typically among the most-represented programs at the All-American Bowl — which is widely considered the nation’s premier high school showcase. With several additional targets, including Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic five-star defensive tackle J.T. Tuimoloau and Steilacoom, Wash., five-star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka already announcing their intentions to play in the game, next year’s All-American Bowl should be no exception.
The 2021 All-American Bowl is scheduled to take place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 9. It will be broadcast live on NBC.
