Jackson is the 81st best prospect in the country, the No. 5 running back and the fifth-ranked player in the state of Ohio according to 247Sports composite ranking.
Jackson is the first running back in the 2025 cycle to commit to Ohio State, meaning its new running backs coach Carlos Locklyn’s first commitment since he started with the Buckeyes. Locklyn had already been recruiting Jackson when he was at Oregon, and continued that relationship when he moved across the country.
Georgia seemed to be gaining ground in the recruitment of Jackson recently, but he will remain in state now with the Buckeyes.
Ohio State now has 13 commitments so far and more will likely be coming as official visits happen throughout the month.
Other running backs Ohio State has been after, and are hosting on visits this month are Philadelphia St. Joseph’s Prep three-star Isaiah West (5-11, 208), who is visiting the weekend of June 14-16 and Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star Jordon Davison (6-0, 225) coming to Columbus the weekend of June 21-23.
