Ohio State Sees 3 Freshmen Shed Black Stripes Before Rutgers

With head coach Urban Meyer looking on, director of player development Ryan Stamper was shown acknowledging three more freshmen to have shed their black stripes before Ohio State battles Rutgers.

The football team’s social media channels posted videos Wednesday of safety Josh Proctor, H-back Jaelen Gill and walk-on wide receiver Sam Wiglusz earning the honor and officially joining the Buckeyes.

Wiglusz, Gill and Proctor join cornerback Cameron Brown, linebacker K’Vaughan Pope, defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste, cornerback Sevyn Banks, defensive end Tyler Friday, cornerbackĀ Tyreke Johnson, tight endĀ Jeremy Ruckert, running backĀ Master Teague, defensive endĀ Tyreke Smith, wide receiverĀ Chris Olave,Ā running backĀ Brian Snead, defensive tackleĀ Taron Vincent, linebackerĀ Teradja Mitchell, linebackerĀ Dallas GantĀ and defensive tackle Tommy Togiai as the number of black-stripe removals for freshmen reaches 18.
