Arrest Warrant Issued For Former Ohio State Linebacker Darron Lee Following Missed Court Appearance
According to Franklin County court records, an arrest warrant has been issued for former Ohio State linebacker Darron Lee following a missed court appearance on Monday surrounding previous charges of domestic violence and assault.
In April, Lee was arrested and charged with two counts each of misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor domestic violence, occurring at his home in Dublin, Ohio, in separate instances on Oct. 17, 2022, and on April 3 of this year. The latter incident resulted in police being called after Lee reportedly struck a female relative several times in the head.
Lee’s case was originally scheduled for a jury trial on June 5, but following a continuance by Judge James Green, it was moved to Monday, when Lee failed to appear.
Lee played at Ohio State for three seasons from 2013-15 and was a member of the Buckeyes’ 2014 national championship team. He was taken in the first round of the 2016 NFL draft by the New York Jets, and also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Raiders.
