When the Buckeyes take Wrigley Field against Northwestern on Saturday, they will once again be without tight end Will Kacmarek and left tackle Zen Michalski.
Neither was expected to be ready for the game against the Wildcats, but also out for the game this week will be defensive end Mitchell Melton.
Kacmarek is still dealing with an injury that he suffered in the loss to Oregon on Oct. 12 on the first offensive drive of the game. Day said before the Purdue game that Kacmarek was healing faster than expected and it seems that he could be ready to go any week.
Melton’s injury hasn’t been revealed, but Michalski is still dealing with an injury he suffered in the fourth quarter of the Nebraska game, the first one he started as the replacement for Josh Simmons, who is out for the season.
Also out for the game is cornerback Aaron Scott Jr., who went down in the fourth quarter of the 45-0 win over Purdue, walking off the field under his own power.
Cornerback Calvin Simpson-Hunt, wide receiver Reis Stocksdale and running back TC Caffey will also be unavailable for the game.
