Availability Report: Seth McLaughlin, Josh Simmons Only Starters Unavailable For First Round Of College Football Playoff

The Buckeyes have no surprises on the availability report for their first-round matchup against Tennessee on Saturday.

Seth McLaughlin, Josh Simmons and TC Caffey are each still out with their season ending injuries and Mason Maggs joins them as being unavailable for the College Football Playoff game against the Volunteers.

The offensive line has been one of the main conversations of the Buckeyes season after it started off so well before the injuries to Simmons and McLaughlin, but now the front five could be facing another shuffle that hasn’t been put on the field yet this season.

Head coach Ryan Day floated the possibility that sophomore Luke Montgomery could get time at left guard and Austin Siereveld could rotate in with Tegra Tshabola at right guard. Earlier in the month he also said that Joshua Padilla would be competing for time as well, but Carson Hinzman seems to have had the center position locked up since McLaughlin went down.

Other than those four, Ohio State will have all of its starters available for the game that is set to begin at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
