Ohio State junior defensive end Nick Bosa was one of three players to be unanimous selections on CBS Sports’ Preseason All-American team, the outlet announced Wednesday morning.
Bosa, who is the reigning Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year, joined Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver and Stanford running back Bryce Love, a top Heisman candidate, as unanimous selections. Bosa led the Buckeyes in sacks (8.5) and tackles for loss (16) last year.
A Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas product, Bosa is expected to be among the top selections if he elects to enter the 2019 NFL draft.
While there were no other Ohio State players on CBS Sports’ first or second-team lists, Bosa was joined by four other Big Ten players on the first team. Five more Big Ten athletes earned a second-team nod.
Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor, Iowa tight end Noah Fanta, Wisconsin offensive lineman David Edwards and Michigan linebacker Devin Bush joined Bosa on the first team. Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley, Wisconsin offensive lineman Beau Benzschawel, Michigan defensive lineman Rashan Gary, Wisconsin linebacker T.J. Edwards and Wisconsin safety D’Cota Dixon all earned second-team honors.
