With spring practices coming to an end, Ohio State is set to host a talented group of recruits for its spring game on Saturday.
Some of the top prospects who are set to make an appearance are five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. — who recently shut down his recruitment — five-star safety Blaine Bradford, four-star running back Derrek Cooper and 2027 four-star defensive end Anthony Sweeney.
This will be Atkinson’s fifth time visiting Ohio State throughout his recruitment, so he obviously has some very real interest in the Buckeyes. It oculd be tough to pull the Georgia linebacker away from the in-state Bulldogs, though, so this will be a huge weekend for linebackers coach James Laurinaitis to try to convince Atkinson, the No. 7 prospect in the country and thre top linebacker to keep the Buckeyes in mind.
The Ohio State commitments who are joining Henry and Bradford on campus are tight end Corbyn Fordham, safety Simeon Caldwell, and offensive linemen Sam Greer, Maxwell Riley and Tucker Smith from the 2026 class. Brady Edmunds will also be at the game representing the Buckeyes 2027 class.
The Buckeyes are still looking for a quarterback in the 2026 class and will have five-star Ryder Lyons and four-star Peyton Falzone on campus for a visit. Lyons doesn’t seem likely to end up with Ohio State, and is more of a 2027 prospect since he plans to go on a church mission after his senior football season. He doesn’t plan to enroll in college until the 2027 spring semester.
Four-star running back Favour Akih will be making his fourth trip to Columbus this spring, with the in-state prospect seemingly leaning toward Ohio State in his recruitment.
There will also be many prospects from the 2027 class making the trip to Ohio State as well, such as four-star running back and Penn State commit Kemon Spell and four-star wide receiver Dakota Guerrant.
