Clemson OC Tony Elliott Expected To Miss College Football Playoff Matchup With Ohio State, Per Report
Clemson may be without its offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, who also coaches running backs, for the College Football Playoff semifinal showdown with Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1.
Elliott answered questions for members of the media Dec. 29 in preparation of the game, but it has been reported that Elliott will miss the Sugar Bowl due to COVID-19 protocols, according to Nicole Auerbach of The Athletic.
“Clemson OC Tony Elliott will be unavailable for the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Friday, Jan. 1, while in COVID-19 protocols,” Auerbach wrote on Twitter. “Elliott will not travel with the team to New Orleans this afternoon.”
The early assumption is that quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Brandon Streeter will call the plays.
