“College Gameday” On Hand For Ohio State-Texas Cotton Bowl

ESPN’s “College Gameday” will once again be on site for a Buckeyes’ game. The show will air live from AT&T Stadium to preview Ohio State’s College Football Playoff semifinal matchup against Texas at the Cotton Bowl, making it the sixth time it will be on hand for a Buckeyes’ game, the most out of any school this season.

“College Gameday” was on site for each of the Buckeyes’ last two College Football Playoff wins against Tenneseee at Ohio Stadium and Oregon at the Rose Bowl, while it was also on hand for their games against Oregon in Eugene, Ore., on Oct. 12 (L, 32-31), Penn State on Nov. 2 in State College, Pa., (W, 20-13) and Indiana on Nov. 23 in Columbus (W, 38-15).

That gives Ohio State a 5-1 record when the Emmy-award winning show — which features a panel of host Rece Davis along with analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban — is on site for one of its games.

Ohio State boasts a 42-20 all-time record in their 62 all-time appearances on the show, which dates back to 1996. Corso has donned Brutus Buckeye’s headgear a record 46 times in his 28 years as “Gameday’s” game picker, also the most of any school.
