Current, Former Ohio State Student-Athletes Set To Graduate Sunday

One hundred and sixty-nine current and former Ohio State student-athletes will receive their degrees during spring commencement on Sunday.

Among the group of graduating Buckeyes, former NFL greats Santonio Holmes (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Nick Mangold (New York Jets), who have earned their diploma through the university’s degree completion program, and former NBA player Greg Oden, who has spent the last few years assisting men’s basketball program as a student assistant coach.

Current football players set to graduate include offensive tackle Branden Bowen, linebacker Justin Hilliard, defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson, long snapper Liam McCullough and wide receiver C.J. Saunders. Former linebacker Nick Conner, whose career was ended prematurely by injuries, and kicker Bryan Kristan, who walked on to the program in 2016 and played for three seasons, will also receive their degrees at today’s commencement.

Several members of the basketball team, including guards C.J. Jackson, Joey Lane and Danny Hummer, will also graduate on Sunday. Former player and student assistant coach Andrew Dakich, meanwhile, will receive his master’s degree in sports coaching.

Other notable graduates including hockey forward Mason Jobst and sprinter Karrington Winters, who were named Ohio State’s Big Ten Medal of Honor recipients last month; All-American wrestles Micah Jordan, Myles Martin, Jory McKenna and Kollin Moore; and softball player Lilli Piper.

Ohio State’s 2019 spring commencement ceremony begins at noon.
