Tony Alford leaving Ohio State for Michigan after nine years in Columbus was a surprise for many, seemingly also to the players, especially since it was right in the middle of spring practices.

Alford is from Ohio and was the second-longest tenured assistant on Ohio State’s staff behind Larry Johnson, so he has been a part of the rivalry for a while.

This will certainly be more motivation for the Buckeyes to come out on top when The Game comes around this season.
