Early Signing Period: Four-Star Defensive End Zion Grady Signs With Ohio State
There’s officially a new member of the Rushmen.
Enterprise, Ala., four-star edge rusher Zion Grady signed to play with Ohio State on Wednesday, giving the Buckeyes a highly-ranked pass rusher in the class of 2025.
Height, Weight: 6-4, 235
247Sports Composite Rankings: Grady is ranked as No. 99 player in the country, No. 9 edge and No. 7 player in the state of Alabama.
Commitment Date: Grady committed to Ohio State on June 6, 2024.
Other Offers: Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Oregon
How He Did In High School: Grady notched a combined 195 tackles, 51 quarterback hits and 33 sacks across his sophomore and junior seasons at Charles Henderson in Troy, Ala., before transferring to Enterprise. The edge rusher was also a part of Charles Henderson’s state title game appearance in 2022 while being named the Alabama Class 5A Lineman of the Year.
Where He Fits For 2025: The sack-eager freshman could have an immediate impact on the edge for Ohio State in the coming season, with the Buckeyes losing JT Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer to the NFL Draft. Grady will bring a much more dynamic look than what has existed prior in Ohio State edge rushers, being on the slimmer side but being called a “position versatile pass rusher capable of playing multiple roles in an odd front” by Cooper Patagna of 247Sports.
Should Grady impress throughout summer and fall camp, he could become the 2025 version of Eddrick Houston: a high-ceiling defensive lineman who can make an impact early.
