Get to know Montgomery (Ala.) Carver four-star running back Anthony Rogers, who signed with the Buckeyes on Wednesday.

Height, Weight: 5-8, 190

247Sports Composite Ranking: Rogers is the nation’s 148th-best prospect, ninth-best running back and No. 10 player out of Alabama.

Commitment Date: Rogers — a former Alabama pledge — committed to Ohio State on Dec. 4, choosing the Buckeyes over Georgia on the first day of the Early Signing Period.

Other Offers: Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Missouri, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Texas.

How He Did In High School: Rogers wrapped up an eventful high school career that had him play at three different schools with a strong senior season at Carver, totaling 36 carries for 221 yards and two touchdowns along with another 478 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He was equally productive at football powerhouse IMG Academy in 2023, carrying the ball 41 times for 316 and five touchdowns with a 7.7-yard average.

Where He Fits For 2024: Carter’s all-around ability and track-star speed — he ran a 200-meter of 22.42 in 2022 — could cause him to turn some heads early at Ohio State next year. But he does join a pretty crowded young running back room that includes fellow incoming freshmen Bo Jackson along with the budding James Peoples and Sam Williams-Dixon. He may have a similar impact as Williams-Dixon had this year, getting some garbage time touches but not enough as his freshman counterpart Jackson.
