Early Signing Period: Four-Star Tight End Nate Roberts Signs With Ohio State

Get to know Washington, Okla., four-star tight end Nate Roberts, who signed with Ohio State on Wednesday.

Height, Weight: 6-4, 235

247 Composite Rankings: He is the No. 180 overall recruit and the No. 10 tight end in the nation, and is the No. 3-ranked recruit out of Oklahoma.

Commitment Date: Roberts committed to Ohio State on April 13

Other Offers: Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M.

How he did in high school: Roberts played for his varsity high school team for four years, but really broke through in his senior year. In 13 games as a senior, Roberts hauled in 46 catches for 904 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Where he fits for 2025: As crowded as the tight end will be in 2025, there is no real front-runner to be the starter in the room after Gee Scott Jr. departs after the season. Former Ohio transfer Will Kacmarek, Bennett Christian and Jelani Thurman could all be candidates to start next year. Any true freshman, including Roberts, would likely be a long shot to start in year one. Still, considering how often Ohio State used formations with multiple tight ends throughout the season, Roberts cannot be ruled out for playing time.
