Height, Weight: 6-2, 215
247 Composite Rankings: He is the No. 41 overall recruit in the country, the No. 2 linebacker, and the No. 10-ranked recruit out of Texas
Commitment date: Pettijohn committed to Ohio State on July 6, 2024.
Other Offers: Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, USC.
How he did in high school: Pettijohn had a sensational senior season at McKinney High School, where he recorded 115 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks
Where he fits for 2025: Pettijohn may not see plenty of playing time in year one behind players like Sonny Styles and Arvell Reese, but he will be one of the most talented players in the linebacker room upon arriving in Columbus. Pettijohn will also have to compete for snaps with younger, talented linebackers like freshmen Payton Pierce and Garrett Stover. As the highest-ranked linebacker in Ohio Stateβs recruiting class, there is certainly a pathway for Pettijohn to become a contributor for the Buckeyes sooner rather than later.
