Get to know Cartersville, Ga., three-star cornerback Jordyn Woods, who signed with Ohio State on Wednesday.
Height, Weight: 6-3, 175
247Sports Composite Rankings: Woods is the No. 1,212 player in the 2025 class, the No. 110 cornerback in the country and the No. 138 player in the state of Georgia.
Commitment Date: Woods committed to Ohio State on Nov. 25, 2024.
Other Offers: Boston College, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Virginia.
How He Did In High School: In 11 games in his senior season, Woods had 41 tackles, three for loss, five passes defended and two forced fumbles. He earned an offer from Ohio State late in the process, getting it from Tim Walton on Nov. 3 before visiting for the Indiana game and committing just two days later.
Where He Fits For 2025: Woods is a prime candidate for a redshirt in the 2025 season. Although the Buckeyes three starting cornerbacks could leave for the NFL draft, there is still depth at the position and Woods will provide more of that next season. Jermaine Mathews Jr., Lorenzo Styles Jr. and Calvin Simpson-Hunt project to fill in the spots that Ohio State will be missing after this season, but whenever three starters leave, there is a lot of playing time to replace.
