Ohio State is once again set to be featured on college football’s premier pregame show, as ESPN’s “College Gameday” will be on hand for the Buckeyes’ marquee Rose Bowl matchup against No. 1 Oregon on New Year’s Day.
This marks the fifth time Ohio State will be featured on the Emmy-winning program — the most of any school this season — and the second time this year that they will be on hand for a game between the Buckeyes and Ducks. The show was also in Eugene, Ore., to preview Ohio State’s Oct. 12 game against Oregon which resulted in the Buckeyes’ first loss of the season, 32-31.
Ohio State has also been featured on “College Gameday” for its Nov. 2 game against Penn State (W, 20-13), Nov. 23 contest with Indiana (W, 38-15) and its Dec. 21 first-round College Football Playoff game against Tennessee (W, 42-17), giving Ryan Day’s team a 3-1 record when the show is in town for a Buckeyes’ game this season.
“Gameday” has been kind to Ohio State historically, with the Buckeyes boasting a 43-20 all-time record in their 63 all-time appearances, which dates back to 1966. Lee Corso has donned Brutus Buckeye’s headgear a record 45 times in his 28 years as the show’s game picker, including this past weekend when he correctly picked Ohio State to defeat Tennessee.
