Five Buckeyes Earn AP All-American Honors
Ohio State had five players earn Associated Press All-American honors on Monday, highlighted by sophomore wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who was named to the first team.
Harrison was one of the most dominant wide receivers in college football this season, named a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award after hauling in 72 receptions for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns.
He became just the eighth player in Ohio State history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a season (and was joined later in the season by Emeka Egbuka, who became the ninth) and was the fourth-fastest to reach the mark, doing so in 11 games.
Harrison has been the most star-studded Ohio State player in terms of postseason recognition, also receiving first-team honors from The Athletic, Bleacher Report, CBS Sports, FWAA, Pro Football Focus and Walter Camp, earning his consensus All-American status.
Also receiving honors from the AP were offensive tackles Paris Johnson Jr. and Dawand Jones, linebacker Tommy Eichenberg and safety Ronnie Hickman, who were each named to the second team.
