Five-Star Defensive Tackle Justin Scott Flips From Ohio State To Miami

Ohio State suffered a blow on Wednesday just weeks ahead of the Early Signing Period, as Chicago St. Ignatius five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott (6-4, 310) announced he is flipping his commitment from the Buckeyes to Miami.

Scott is the No. 12 overall prospect and third-ranked defensive lineman in the class, and was also the second-ranked player and top defensive recruit in Ohio State’s class. He initially committed to Ohio State on July 2 – one that caught many off guard – a couple of weeks after making an official visit to Columbus.

Scott’s departure from the class is a significant blow, as the Buckeyes have just two other defensive linemen committed in Buford, Ga., five-star Eddrick Houston (6-3, 265) and Stafford (Va.) Mountain View three-star Eric Mensah (6-3, 290).

Ohio State continues to recruit Towson (Md.) Concordia Prep four-star defensive end Ernest Willor Jr. (6-3, 255), who is visiting in December, and Bay City, Texas, three-star defensive tackle Carlon Jones (6-3, 285), who recently recommitted from Nebraska.
