Ohio State got its 23rd commitment of the 2025 when McKinney, Texas, five-star linebacker Riley Pettijohn (6-2, 215) announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on Saturday.
Pettijohn is the No. 31 player in the country in his class, the No. 4 overall linebacker and the ninth-best player in the state of Texas.
He chose the Buckeyes over Texas A&M and USC and is the third linebacker in the class for Ohio State and new linebackers coach James Laurinaitis. They have also received commitments from Vero Beach, Fla., four-star Tarvos Alford (6-2, 210) and Akron Archbishop Hoban four-star Eli Lee (6-3, 230).
After getting just one linebacker in its 2024 class, Laurinaitis now has secured a very good class in his first year being the official position coach.
