According to 247Sports, former Northwestern offensive lineman Josh Thompson (6-5, 301) will visit Ohio State on Friday, the last of three visits to Power Four programs for Thompson this week along with Michigan State on Tuesday and Auburn on Wednesday.

Thompson, an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection this season, will likely be a top offensive line transfer portal this offseason. He has started 21 games across his four-year career with the Wildcats, including 10 games this year and 11 last season. He has seen time at left guard, right guard and right tackle.

According to Pro Football Focus, Thompson has not allowed a sack in his last 18 games, and he finished the 2024 season with an overall grade of 74.9, the eighth-best mark among guards in both the Big Ten and SEC.

Thompson, a Fenton, Mich., native and former three-star prospect out of high school, has one year of eligibility remaining.

Thompson is not the only offensive lineman the Buckeyes are interested in in the transfer portal. 247Sports also reported that Ohio State has reached out to former Ball State offensive lineman Taran Tyo (6-4, 325), who started at right tackle for the Cardinals this season but will likely play guard at his next school.

The transfer portal officially opened on Monday.
