Just two days after he entered the transfer portal, former Ohio State cornerback Calvin Simpson-Hunt signed with Baylor on Thursday.
The former four-star prospect out of Waxahachie, Texas, will now be much closer to home after spending two seasons with the Buckeyes. He had originally been committed to Texas Tech out of high school before flipping to Ohio State.
He made it into nine games during this season with OSU, but most of his time was with the special teams unit, not being able to climb the depth chart with such a deep secondary that included Denzel Burke, Davison Igbinosun, Jordan Hancock, Jermaine Mathews Jr. and more.
Now with Aaron Scott and Devin Sanchez in the mix as well, it could have been tough for Simpson-Hunt to stand out in his junior season enough to find major playing time.
He will have three years of eligibility remaining since he was able to use a redshirt season in 2023 when he only got into five different contests.
