Former Ohio State defensive tackle and Cleveland Browns rookie Michale Hall Jr. was arrested Tuesday following an alleged domestic dispute Monday night, an Avon (Ohio) police spokesperson confirmed to The Athletic.
According to a report from Zac Johnson and Jason Llyod of The Athletic, police were called to a residence Monday night about an incident involving Hall and the mother of his child, but Hall left before police arrived.
No further details involving the incident have been reported.
The Browns, who selected Hall — a Garfield Heights, Ohio, native — with the 54th overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft on April 26, released a statement regarding the incident on Tuesday morning.
“We are aware of the incident involving Mike Hall Jr. last night,” the team said, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “Mike and his representatives have been in touch with the appropriate authorities. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at the time.”
Hall, 21, played three seasons at Ohio State before being drafted by the Browns, totaling 45 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and six sacks for Larry Johnson’s defensive line unit from 2021-23 while earning third-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior. It was while he was at Ohio State where he became a father to Michael “Trey” Hall on Sept. 15, 2023.
