Former Ohio State defensive tackle Tommy Togiai, a fourth round pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2021 NFL Draft, officially signed with the Browns on Friday.
Togiai was selected with the No. 132 overall pick in the draft, becoming the seventh Buckeye off the board in 2021.
With Ohio State, Togiai finished his collegiate career with 49 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble, and was named second-team All-Big Ten in his final year with the team.
He joins a Browns roster that went 11-5 in 2020 and won its first playoff game this century with a dominant victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. On the defensive line, he will join defensive end Myles Garrett, as well as new additions Jadeveon Clowney and Takk McKinley. Inside, he will be battling with guys like Andrew Billings, Jordan Elliott and Malik Jackson for playing time.
The Browns also drafted Northwestern cornerback Greg Newsome, Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, West Virginia linebacker Tony Fields and Georgia safety Richard LeCounte to help bolster the defense.
