Former Ohio State guard Eugene Brown III is returning home.
After entering the transfer portal on March 30, Brown announced Tuesday that he will transfer to Georgia Southern. Hailing from Conyers, Ga., Brown spent three seasons at Ohio State, where he finished his degree in sport industry.
Appearing in 77 games as a Buckeye, Brown posted career averages of 2.2 points and 1.7 rebounds per game while playing 10.9 minutes per contest. He wore many hats in his time as a Buckeye but was primarily utilized on the wing — where he was known for his solid perimeter defense.
Last season, Brown missed the first 11 games due to a concussion but appeared in 22 games — making one start as a small-ball center against Minnesota on Jan. 12. Brown spent most of the season as a center off of the bench for the Buckeyes, despite standing at 6-7, averaging 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds per game while shooting 53.1 percent from the field.
Brown now joins a Georgia Southern squad that is coming off of a 17-16 season, which included a 9-9 mark in Sun Belt play.
