Former Ohio State Kicker Jake Seibert Commits To Northern Illinois
Former Ohio State kicker Jake Seibert announced Tuesday that he will commit to Northern Illinois after entering the transfer portal on April 17.
After spending three seasons at Ohio State, Seibert joins a Northern Illinois squad that is coming off of a 3-9 campaign, including a 2-6 mark in Mid-American Conference play. While with the Buckeyes, Seibert went 1 of 2 on field goals — with his lone make coming from 23 yards out against Alabama in the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship — and he hit all 16 of his extra-point attempts.
Seibert joins the Huskies with three remaining seasons of eligibility and becomes the fourth Buckeye transfer to find his new home during the spring transfer window, joining wide receivers Kaleb Brown (Iowa) and Caleb Burton (Auburn) and offensive lineman Ben Christman (Kentucky).
Although Seibert is off to Northern Illinois, Ohio State still has three remaining kickers on the roster with sophomore Jayden Fielding, and transfers Parker Lewis and Casey Magyar.
