Former Ohio State linebacker Darron Lee accepted a plea offer on Monday to dismiss a domestic violence charge and amend an assault charge to attempted assault, which made it a misdemeanor.
Lee, who pled guilty of possession of a controlled substance, will serve one day in jail, was issued one year of probation and was accepted into a drug court program.
Lee was ordered to serve two years of probation and pay a $500 fine by Judge James Green after accepting the plea deal for attempted assault.
Lee was charged with assault and domestic violence on April 4, after a woman accused him of punching her in the head several times the night before.
While investigating that incident, police were made aware of another alleged incident on Oct. 17, 2022, where Lee allegedly assaulted a different woman.
Lee, who played with Ohio State from 2013-15 and was a second-team All-American in 2015, spent five years in the NFL and won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019.
