Former Ohio State offensive lineman Matt Jones was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent after not being selected in the 2024 NFL draft.
He is one of five Buckeyes who entered their name into the draft who didn’t hear their names called along with safety Josh Proctor, linebacker Steele Chambers, running back Miyan Williams and wide receiver Xavier Johnson.
Jones started at Ohio State in 2018 and redshirted his freshman season, playing in eight games the next year as a backup to Jonah Jackson. He got into every game during the COVID-19 shortened season and was a full-time starter in 2022 and 2023, two seasons in which he earned second-team All-Big Ten honors from both the coaches and the media.
Jones will now have a chance to show the Dolphins what he can do over the offseason and in training camp when the fall rolls around so he can try to make the team as a rookie.
