Former Ohio State Offensive Tackle Dawand Jones Signs Rookie Contract With Cleveland Browns
Former Ohio State offensive tackle Dawand Jones has taken the next step toward making his debut at the professional level, signing his rookie contract with the Cleveland Browns on Monday.
Jones was the final of Cleveland’s draftees to sign his rookie deal, with the Browns now inking every member of their draft class. Jones was selected in the fourth round with the No. 111 overall pick, finally selected after falling further than most anticipated, at one point viewed as a fringe first-round pick.
Jones was drafted after starting every game for Ohio State over the past two seasons, earning third-team All-American honors from Pro Football Focus in 2021 and second-team All-Big Ten honors in each of the last two seasons.
While the terms of his deal have not been released, Spotrac projects that Jones’ four-year deal will be with $4,626,332, with a $792,332 signing bonus. All of Ohio State’s draftees – with the exception of quarterback C.J. Stroud, who was selected second overall by the Houston Texans – have now signed their rookie deals.
