According to multiple reports, former Ohio State running back and Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George is set to become the next head football coach at Tennessee State.

ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg said that Tennessee State will be introducing George as head coach on Tuesday.

George played at Ohio State from 1992-95 and really exploded on the scene in his final two seasons, rushing for 1,442 yards and 12 touchdowns in 1994 and 1,927 yards and 24 scores in 1995, his Heisman season.

From there, he was selected in the first round, No. 14 overall by the then-Houston Oilers, which would become the Tennessee Titans. Across nine NFL seasons, George rushed for 10,441 yards and 68 touchdowns.

This will be George’s first coaching experience, and it will be on a FCS program that is 2-4 this season and is playing its final game of the year against Southeast Missouri on Sunday.
