Former Ohio State wide receiver Kaleb Brown, who entered the portal last week, announced Thursday that he is transferring to Iowa for the next step in his collegiate career.
Brown had recently completed his first season at Ohio State, appearing in four games and bringing in one reception for five yards. He was the highest-rated of the Buckeyes’ four wide receiver signees in the 2022 recruiting class, coming out of high school as the No. 79 overall prospect and No. 13 wide receiver.
While Iowa’s offense has had an anti-receiver reputation for the last several years, with no wideout on the team surpassing 400 receiving yards last year, it could be a new dawn for the Hawkeyes, who welcome in Brown in addition to former Michigan quarterback Cade McNamara and tight end Erick All. Without significant returning production at wideout, an opportunity exists for Brown to take a big leap entering his second season of college football.
He is the first of Ohio State recent transfers – including wide receiver Caleb Burton, offensive lineman Ben Christman and kicker Jake Seibert – to find their transfer destination.
