Ohio State strengthened its cornerbacks room by landing former Ole Miss cornerback Davison Igbinosun through the transfer portal, garnering his commitment on Tuesday.
Igbinosun landed on the Buckeyes after taking an official visit to Columbus on Saturday. Ohio State beat out Tennessee, UCLA and Michigan for Igbinosun’s services. The Former Ole Miss cornerback was ranked as the best remaining option in the transfer portal and the No. 10 overall player in the portal by 247Sports.
Igbinosun, a former four-star recruit out of Union, N.J., played out his freshman season with the Rebels in 2022, collecting 37 tackles and five pass breakups in 13 games — including 10 starts. He joins the Buckeyes with three remaining seasons of eligibility.
The Buckeyes gain some much-needed depth at cornerback with the addition of Igbinosun, who will likely compete for a starting spot against the likes of Denzel Burke, Jordan Hancock and Jyaire Brown, alongside incoming freshmen Calvin Simpson-Hunt and Jermaine Mathews.
