Ohio State got another commitment on Friday with 2025 four-star defensive end London Merritt (6-3,250) announcing his intention to be a Buckeye.
247Sports composite ranking has him as the 101st best prospect in the country, the 10th best defensive lineman and the 13th best player in the state of Florida.
Merritt is the second defensive lineman to commit to Ohio State in the 2025 cycle with Imhotep Institute four-star defensive end Zahir Mathis committing to Ohio State on Jan. 10.
At Woodward Academy in his junior season, Merritt had 33 tackles, 15 for a loss, nine sacks, six quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles. He will play his senior season at IMG Academy in Florida after transferring.
Merritt had visited North Carolina, USC, Florida State and Alabama, but Ohio State beat them out. Now defensive line coach Larry Johnson will have to hold on to his two recruits until December’s early signing period and will likely be looking to add to the interior.
Ohio State now has eight commits in the 2025 recruiting class after Merritt’s commitment and wide receiver Jayvan Boggs decommitting earlier this week.
