Ohio State has missed out on an in-state offensive lineman, with Washington Court House (Ohio) Miami Trace four-star offensive tackle Adam Guthrie (6-7, 285) committing to Clemson on Friday while he was on an unofficial visit.
Guthrie, the No. 243 player in the country and the No. 20 offensive tackle according to 247Sports composite rankings has been in South Carolina since March 4, taking an extended visit with Tigers offensive line coach Matt Luke.
The Buckeyes were one of Guthrie’s top three schools, with an official visit scheduled to Columbus the weekend of June 6. It’s unclear at this point whether he will still make that visit over the summer.
Guthrie isn’t the only Ohio offensive lineman Luke is trying to pry from the Buckeye state, with Avon Lake, Ohio, four-star offensive tackle Maxwell Riley (6-5, 280) between Ohio State and Clemson, and he is hoping to make his decision soon as well.
