Ohio State continued to build a strong recruiting class on the offensive side of the ball Sunday, as the Buckeyes added a commitment from Saint Louis (Mo.) Christian Brothers College four-star wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan (6-0, 190).
McClellan is the No. 108 overall prospect and No. 18 wide receiver in the class, and he selected Ohio State over in-state Missouri and Oregon, his other top schools. The Buckeyes had long been viewed as the favorite to land McClellan’s services, with the four-star prospect taking several visits to Columbus, including his recent official visit on June 9.
He shows plenty of versatility at Christian Brothers, lining up outside and in the slot as well as taking handoffs on end-arounds and in the wildcat, and also returning kickoffs and punts. He helped lead his school to back-to-back state titles, posting 61 receptions for 1,103 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.
McClellan is the third wide receiver to commit to Ohio State’s 2024 recruiting class, joining five-stars Jeremiah Smith (6-3, 198) of Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep and Mylan Graham (6-1, 170) of New Haven, Ind. Ohio State also continues to pursue Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas four-star wide receiver Chance Robinson (6-2, 190), who is committed to Miami (Fla.) and was offered by the Buckeyes in recent weeks, thought McClellan’s commitment makes Robinson less of a priority.
