Ohio State suffered a loss on the first day of the Early Signing Period as St. Louis Christian Brothers four-star wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan (6-0, 190) flipped to Oregon and signed with the Ducks.
McClellan is the No. 49 overall prospect and No. 13 wide receiver in the class, and he had been committed to Ohio State since August. But both Oregon and in-state Missouri had come on strong for McClellan in recent weeks, with the Ducks able to win out in his recruitment.
McClellan’s flip is a blow to Ohio State’s class, though he was the lowest-rated of Ohio State’s three wide receivers committed in the class, with Opa Locka (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep’s Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham of New Haven, Ind., both checking in as five-star prospects.
