Georgia Commit, Five-Star Safety Peyton Woodyard Sets Ohio State Visit For June 16-18
One of the top prospects in 2024 – not to mention a current commitment to Georgia – is set to take an official visit to Ohio State the weekend of June 16-18, with Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star safety Peyton Woodyard (6-2, 188) planning to visit Columbus.
Woodyard has been committed to Georgia since Jan. 7, pledging to the Bulldogs over his other top schools including Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon and USC, but he has started taking visits to other schools over the last month, including an unofficial visit to Columbus on April 12. This upcoming official visit will be his fifth trip to Ohio State.
He is the No. 61 overall prospect and No. 4 safety in the class, totaling 54 tackles, an interception and eight pass breakups last season for St. John Bosco, a team that annually sends several players to Power Five programs across the country.
Should Ohio State potentially flip Woodyard, he would be the first safety prospect committed in the Buckeyes’ class. Other targets include Buford, Ga., five-star KJ Bolden (6-1, 185), Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep four-star Zaquan Patterson (6-0, 185), Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star Jordon Johnson-Rubell (5-10, 180) and Dayton Centerville three-star Reggie Powers (6-1, 195).
