Ohio State sophomore quarterback Dwayne Haskins picked up his first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honor Monday after leading the Buckeyes to a 77-31 win over Oregon State to kick off the 2018 season.
Haskins set program records for a quarterback making his first career start by throwing for 313 yards and five touchdowns int he victory. He completed 22 of 30 passes with one interception while rushing for 24 yards on two carries.
Haskins is the first Buckeye to win the award sine running back Mike Weber on Nov. 13, 2017.
Illinois linebacker Jake Hansen and Maryland defensive back Antoine Brooks Jr. split the defensive award while Michigan DB Ambry Thomas and Minnesota DB Antoine Winfield Jr., the son of Buckeye great Antoine Winfield, split the special teams honor.
Maryland wide receiver Jeshaun Jones and Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore were the freshmen of the week.
