Highlights: Ohio State Destroys Miami (Ohio) With Massive Second Quarter

While Ohio State’s 76-5 start didn’t start in the prettiest fashion, it ended in just about the same way that each of Ohio State’s first three wins did: with a blowout victory. After a first quarter that saw the Buckeyes surrender a safety and a field goal, Ohio State put up the highest scoring quarter in school history since 1960, pulling away from the Redhawks with a whopping 42 second quarter points.

As you might imagine, that quarter, and the full game sparked quite a few highlights. We have everything that you need to see from Ohio State’s fourth win of the 2019 season.

JK Dobbins kicked off the scoring for the Buckeyes with this 26-yard rush, bouncing off of several defenders on the way to the endzone. Sound familiar?

Ohio State struck quickly to start the second quarter, and then found the endzone almost immediately again after the first interception of Jeff Okudah’s college career.

A drive later, Justin Fields found the end zone again, and Ohio State started to really blow the doors off of Miami.

While the offense was putting up fireworks, Chase Young decided that one quiet quarter was enough, and got back onto the sack train in a big way, with not one, but two strip sacks in the second quarter.

Ohio State found the first another touchdown on this pass to Chris Olave after the first strip.

And a second to Olave off of Young’s encore.

In between Olave and Young big plays, Sevyn Banks made an appearance with a punt block, and Ben Victor found the end zone on a beautiful catch.

While the second half was far quieter, it saw big performances from young players like Garrett Wilson, Jameson Williams, Marcus Crowley and Dallas Gant. Wilson kicked off the half with a massive punt return.

And followed it up with a terrific catch overtop of a defender.

Gant picked up a sack in the third, and a half a sack a few plays later.

Jameson Williams flashed his speed on a quick hit pass from Gunnar Hoak, and showed off what made him one of the fastest recruits in America last year.

Lastly, Marcus Crowley scored his first touchdown as a Buckeye on this short pass in the flats.

Ohio State returns to play on Sept. 28 in Lincoln, Nebraska, at 7:30 p.m. against Scott Frost and the Cornhuskers.
