Josh Johnson of Tulsa was the first real candidate of the season for No. 1 cornerback to deal with. Johnson has 51 receptions for 638 yards on the season – not amazing, but good enough to qualify here, and he nabbed eight passes for 149 yards against the Buckeye defense.
When Purdue plays a top-five team, they find a way to win the game. After beating No. 3 Michigan State last weekend, they claimed their 17th victory over an Associated Press Top 25 opponent as an unranked team — no other program has won more than 11.

Garrett Wilson caught three touchdown passes and ran for another when No. 4 Ohio State pounded No. 19 Purdue 59-31 at Ohio Stadium on Saturday. Wilson, who missed the Nov. 6 game at Nebraska for an undisclosed reason although several reports said he had a concussion, had scoring receptions of 21 and 12 yards and a TD run of 51 yards as the Buckeyes (9-1, 7-0 Big Ten) rolled to a 45-17 halftime lead.
Before the season started, Chris Olave seemed to be a lock as the best wide receiver in the country. However, Garrett Wilson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba outshined him through the first nine games, causing the senior wideout to take a backseat in the Ohio State offense.
