Ohio State will learn the fate on July 30 for one of the program’s priority targets in 2024, as Springfield, Ohio, four-star cornerback Aaron Scott (6-0, 170) will announce his college commitment.
Scott will decided between Michigan, Ohio State and Oregon, though it would be a surprise if he doesn’t ultimately decide between the Buckeyes and Wolverines. Both programs have put a full-court press on the Ohio product in recent months, hosting him on official visits in June.
Scott is the No. 53 overall prospect and fifth-ranked cornerback in 2024, and he is the second-best prospect in Ohio behind only Cleveland Glenville four-star cornerback Bryce West (5-11, 177), who committed to Ohio State on June 24. Scott finished last season with 21 tackles (three for loss) with five interceptions and a fumble recovery for Springfield, displaying impressive ball skills and dominating in coverage.
Between now and July 30, Ohio State is also likely to get good news on the front of Chandler (Ariz.) Basha four-star cornerback Miles Lockhart (5-10, 185), who is announcing his commitment on July 6, with the Buckeyes viewed as heavy favorites. Other targets at cornerback include Waco (Texas) Connally five-star Kobe Black (6-0, 190) and Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star Zabien Brown (6-0, 180).
