Incoming Ohio State Quarterback Tavien St. Clair Looking Ahead, Wants To Win Another National Championship

The traditional National Signing Day isn’t even here yet, but the Buckeyes 2025 quarterback, Tavien St. Clair, has already been with the team for a national championship run.

From Bellefontaine, Ohio, St. Clair grew up an Ohio State fan and when he got the chance to commit, he didn’t waste any time, doing so over a year and a half ago on June 21, 2023.

Then after signing on Dec. 4 during the early signing period, he was able to come to Columbus as an early enrolle along with many of the other members of the 2025 class, and he was able to see Will Howard do something he hopes to do himself in the future: lead Ohio State to a national championship win.

“For me to even be a part of this is surreal, growing up a Buckeye fan,” St. Clair told BSB after the win. “At the end of the day I’ve always wanted to see them be successful. To be around these guys all year long and see the work that they put in, the countless hours, and all of the times people were doubting them, it’s really special for me to see. I’m just glad that I get to be a part of it, and I’m ready for the future.”

Currently there are just three scholarship quarterbacks in the room for the Buckeyes 2025 season, and Julian Sayin seems to be the favorite to win the job in his sophomore season. But junior Lincoln Kienholz and St. Clair are also going to be battling for that role come spring practices and fall camp.

But whether it’s this year or some other time in the future when St. Clair, the No. 4 overall recruit in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings, gets his chance to lead the offense, and after watching the 2024 team accomplish their goal, he has the same goal in mind.

“It would be a dream come true to have the opportunity to do that, but I chose to come to Ohio State to win things like the national championship. That’s what the Ohio State standard is. For me to be here only three or four weeks and watch everything unfold, I’m really excited to see what the next three or four years holds for us.”
