Ironton, Ohio, four-star linebacker Reid Carrico officially ended his recruitment when he signed with Ohio State during the first day of the Early Signing Period on Wednesday.

The 6-3, 225-pound Carrico is considered the fifth-best inside linebacker and No. 84 prospect overall in the class of 2021, as he recorded 50 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and four sacks to lead the Fighting Tigers to the state championship game this season.

He had visited campus numerous times since landing an offer from the Buckeyes in April 2019, including a camp that June and the 42-0 win over Cincinnati that fall.

Carrico is the only linebacker in Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class, though the Buckeyes are still in pursuit of Santa Ana (Calif) Mater Dei four-star Raesjon Davis, an LSU commit who does not plan to sign his letter of intent during the Early Signing Period.
