Jayden Bonsu, Kojo Antwi Among Eight Buckeyes Unavailable In Season Opener Against Indiana
Ohio State will be without eight players against Indiana, though none were expected to be significant contributors for the Buckeyes in the season opener at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.
The Buckeyes will be without a pair of freshmen in safety Jayden Bonsu and defensive lineman Will Smith Jr., while linebacker Kourt Williams II – who is out for the season after suffering an ACL injury – will also be out. On offense, Ohio State will be without wide receivers Kyion Grayes, Joop Mitchell and Reis Stocksdale, while tight end Zak Herbstreit and running back T.C. Caffey Jr. will also be unavailable. No Buckeyes are listed as questionable.
Several scholarship players not listed on the injury report did not travel to Bloomington, Ind., including cornerbacks Cedrick Hawkins and Calvin Simpson-Hunt; defensive ends Omari Abor, Joshua Mickens and Jason Moore; defensive tackle Kayden McDonald; linebacker Gabe Powers; offensive linemen Trey Leroux, Joshua Padilla, Austin Siereveld and Miles Walker; tight end Sam Hart; and wide receivers Kojo Antwi and Bryson Rodgers.
Walk-ons that made the trip include wide receiver David Adolph, kicker Jayden Fielding, tight end Patrick Gurd, safety Brenten Jones, long snapper Max Lomonico, punter Joe McGuire, quarterback Chad Ray and cornerback Lorenzo Styles Jr.
