Ohio State true freshman receiver Jeremiah Smith continued to find himself in elite company on Tuesday when he was named a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist.
Smith, the former No. 1 recruit in the 2024 class, broke former Ohio State receiver Cris Carter’s single-season freshman receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns records this season.
For the season, Smith has tied for a team-high 49 catches and leads the team with 864 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
The Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s best receiver, went to former Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. last season.
Smith was joined by 10 other receivers on the list including Alabama receiver and fellow freshman Ryan Williams, Colorado wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter and Maryland receiver Tai Felton.
The Biletnikoff Award winner will be announced on Dec. 12 on ESPN.
