Josh Fryar Signs With Arizona Cardinals As Undrafted Free Agent

Only three draft eligible Ohio State players didn’t hear their names called in the 2025 NFL draft, and Josh Fryar was one of them. But he has signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent, a move that reunites him with former offensive line coach Justin Frye and teammates Marvin Harrison Jr., Paris Johnson Jr., Denzel Burke and Cody Simon.

Fryar started the last two seasons at right tackle for the Buckeyes under Frye and while he did have some struggles, he ultimately was part of a great offensive line performance during the Buckeyes 2024 season, especially during the four-game run to winning the national championship.

Fryar first joined Ohio State as a member of the 2020 recruiting class, ranked the No. 502 player overall and the No. 29 offensive guard by 247Sports. But he worked his way into an important role for the Buckeyes before the 2023 season.

He suffered an ACL tear during the 2021 season during warmups against Michigan and missed all of 2022 spring practice before getting back onto the field for the 2022 season, making his first career start in Week 11 against Indiana.

After starting all 13 games in the 2023 season, Fryar made some improvements into the 2024 season and allowed just one sack, according to Pro Football Focus and started all 16 games while the line went through some major injuries.

Now Fryar will head into training camp with the hopes of making the Cardinals roster so that he can try to establish himself in the NFL.
