
Now that the week of the 2025 NFL draft is here, many former Buckeyes will be figuring out where they will be playing pro football between Thursday and Sunday. However, none of the 17 draft eligible Ohio State players from the 2024 team will attend the event.
Left tackle Josh Simmons was originally set to be in Green Bay, Wisc., for the draft as one of the Buckeyes who has been somewhat consitently mock drafted in the first round, but when NFL insider Adam Schefter released an updated list, Simmons was no longer on there.
It will be the first time since the 2021 NFL draft that Ohio State doesn’t have a player attending the event.
Only 15 players total will be at Lambeau Field in Green Bay for the draft and despite having a chance to break the record set by Georgia of 15 players being selected in one draft, Ohio State won’t have anyone representing the program on site.
No Buckeyes are seen as locks for the first round, and if Day One goes by and no Ohio State players names are called, it will be the first time since the 2015 NFL draft that OSU won’t have a single first-round pick. The Buckeyes currently boast the second longest active streak of most consecutive years with a first-round pick at nine, while only Alabama has more with 16 straight years.
Simmons and wide receiver Emeka Agbuka have been the two most common players to be projected in the first round while Donovan Jackson and JT Tuimoloau also seem to have a chance to as well
